Nerve stages a debate on your real numbers: perspectives take positions, cross-examine each other, a devil's advocate attacks whatever consensus forms — and the verdict that lands tells you who dissented and what evidence it stands on. This is a real debate the engine ran, replayed beat by beat.

The anatomy

Positions, then the attack.

Each voice argues from one concern — Revenue wants the compounding upside, Risk counts the runway a launch would burn. Their claims cite the same evidence ledger, so the disagreement is about judgment, not about whose numbers are right.

Then the devil’s advocate attacks the emerging consensus on purpose. In this debate it detonated the comfortable answer: “the consensus treats inaction as free. It isn’t.” Dissent survives into the final verdict instead of being averaged away.

The verdict

A call you can audit.

The verdict is specific — not “proceed with caution” but “run an invite-only pilot to 5–10 existing buyers” — and every load-bearing claim in it carries an evidence ID. Hover any chip in the product and the underlying number, its source, and its freshness open up.

The vote split ships with the verdict: 4 delay, 2 proceed-with-conditions, dissenting voices named. Strong verdicts are labeled strong; contested ones say so.

Cited or silent

Answers earn the right to exist.

The same engine that argues also refuses. Ask about a market it has no rows for and it abstains — with the reason code and the exact list of inputs that would unlock an answer. Beside it, a question it can answer arrives cited.

Statistical gates

Too little data? It holds.

Underneath the debate sit fixed thresholds: scores, bands, and proposals need a minimum sample before Nerve will draw a conclusion. Three data points never steer a recommendation.

The floors are constants in the codebase, not tunable marketing — below them you get “not enough data yet,” and the debate simply argues without that input.
